Carbon Steel ASTM A350 Grade LF2 is a general Carbon steel usually supplied in the Normalised, Normalised and Tempered or Quench and Tempered condition. It is typified by having moderate strength and impact toughness and is used extensively for the manufacture of flanges and fittings, and applications which require cold temperature service where corrosion resistance is not important.

Temperature for this material 900 – 1200oC Carbon Steel ASTM A350 LF2 has good to very good machinability, dependent on condition, and operations such as sawing, turning, broaching, milling etc can be accomplished satisfactorily using standard machine tool manufacturers recommended speeds and feeds and Hardening – Heat to 890 – 960oC for a time commensurate with ruling section and quench in Water.

EN8 carbon steel is a common medium carbon and medium tensile steel, with improved strength over mild steel, through-hardening medium carbon steel. EN8 carbon steel is also readily machinable in any condition.

EN8 steels are generally used in the as supplied untreated condition. But EN8 steels can be further surface-hardened by induction processes, producing components with enhanced wear resistance. Steel EN8 materials in its heat treated forms possesses good homogenous metallurgical structures, giving consistent machining properties.EN8 steel grade belongs to the standard of BS 970-1955, which is a standard for wrought steel for mechanical and allied engineering purpose. In BS 970 standards, there are some other common steel grades, like EN9, EN19, EN24, EN36 etc. And the most equivalent is grade 080M40 steel in BS 970-1991.

Hot Rolled 1018 Steel Bars are low carbon steel round bars used in engineering that offer good formability, weldability and machinability. Since it has higher manganese than commercial quality and AISI 1020, it offers better carburising properties. The mechanical properties of hot rolled AISI 1018 steel round bars are higher than commercial quality steel round bar.

Mild Steel is used in mechanical engineering applications for parts that will not be subject to high stress.

When in its bright cold drawn condition the steel is able to endure higher levels of stress, particularly on smaller diameters.
Compared to normal Mild Steel, bright Mild Steel provides tighter sectional tolerances, increased straightness, and a much cleaner surface. The main advantage of cold drawn 1018 steel is that Steel can be brought closer to the finished machine size, providing reduces machining costs. Another benefit of bright Steel bars is a marked increase in physical strength over hot rolled bars of the same section.

H-13 (1.2344) is an air hardening chromium die steel - can be used for a range of applications. The higher vanadium content ensures increased resistance to heat checking and all round improvement to properties at elevated temperatures.

Steel Properties : High hot-wear resistance, high hot tensile strength and toughness. Good thermal conductivity and insusceptibility to hot cracking. Can be water-cooled to a limited extent.

Applications : Hot-work tool steel for universal use.
